hi, i’m samantha. i’m the one face behind apt herbals. i’m an artist, maker + herbalist located in portland, or.
i have always had deep connections with the earth. i find much joy in the special bonds i continuously create and nurture with plants, creatures, and landscapes. just as strongly, i’ve always felt most myself when helping others, especially when that means creating more ease in the lives around me.
the idea for APT HERBALS (A-P-T, OR ‘APT’) was created in my small apartment with gentle healing, local sourcing, education, and play in mind. so many passion projects are born in apartments from music, art, writing + beyond - and i have dreams to share mine in the form of herbal goods + offerings. this past year i moved into a beautiful home where i can garden and even source some herbs and botanicals from my own back yard (plus, i also fulfilled my dream of getting chickens).
if i can offer strength and comfort in anyway through the plants that i love, then i am successful.
after growing my knowledge and for herbs and plant medicine, the big-time healer in me found a home in creating these products and dreaming up a way to offer them to more people. my offerings come in small batches, mindfully made, sourced as local as possible, in order to deliver the best of my ability. earth’s medicine is truly everyone’s medicine, and everyone’s opportunity to heal in a myriad of ways. whether it be small or bigger picture, my goal is to offer gentle yet effective internal and external remedies to ease afflictions and connect yourself back to how beautiful healing and mending can be. i’m also a strong believer in the energetics and folklore around plant allies and how they can be of use in our emotional worlds - which all have been and will continue to be jostled by the times we are in. if i can offer strength and comfort in anyway through plants that i love, then i am successful.
having apt herbals makes me feel empowered, inspired, and able to have a good amount of fun. i hope to create a space for gentle healing + learning about the earth’s offerings in safe, sustainable, and informed ways.
